Alice Misak Atikian peacefully passed away in Dearborn, Michigan on November 3, 2018. Born in Amman, Jordan, on April 15, 1926, she was the daughter of Kevork and Khatoun (nee Hamamjian) Shiklanian. She received her basic education in Tarkmantchatz Schoool in Jerusalem.In 1942, she married Misak Atikian, who was from Jaffa. The newlyweds lived in Jaffa, where they were blessed with the birth of their first two children, Seta and Garo. They moved back to Amman, Jordan in 1948, where their son, Sarkis, was born. Because of the civil unrest in the area, the family immigrated to the USA in 1959, in search of peace, opportunity and a better life.Alice, from the very beginning, had been a generous supporter of her church, Armenian organizations and the community. As an active member of the Garmir Khatch (ARS - Armenian Relief Society), she was a dedicated representative to all meetings and functions. She proudly donated to the new altar at St. Sarkis and was a faithful member of the Fellowship Club. She could always be spotted working hard at all events surrounding the church.Alice Atikian leaves a shining example of Christian love for family, friends, community and nation, for which she shall forever be remembered. FAMILY MEMBERSShe was the Beloved wife of the late Misak Atikian. Dearest mother of Seta (the late Harout) Brodjian, Sarkis (Arlene) Atikian and the late Garo Atikian. Loving grandmother of Clara (Tro) Kholamian, Tina (Varouj) Jindoian, Suzy (Karnig) Kerkonian, Ani (Stanley) Patterson, Shant (Talar) Atikian. Cherished Great-grandmother of 12 great-grandchildren; Dear sister of Lucine (the late Khoren) Boghossian, the late Mary Brunshushian, the late Hovhannes Shiklanian, and the late Harootoun Krikor Shiklanian. Also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. VISITATIONIn State Wednesday 5pm to 8pm in St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church, 19300 Ford Rd, Dearborn, with Dan Gark prayers at 7:30pm. FUNERAL The family will also receive friends in church on Thursday from 10am until time of Funeral Service at 11am. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.
