Ann Grigorian peacefully passed away on July 4, 2021, in Livonia, Michigan, with her beloved daughter beside her. Born in New York, NY on April 11, 1930, she was the daughter of Boghos Paul and Shnorhik (nee Kahramanian) Asdourian and sister of John Asdourian, with three nephews, Paul, Mark and Glenn. Even as a child, Ann, with her ever-present smiling face, was noted as a fiery comedian with an unwavering independence. Receiving her education, Ann had an uncanny sense of numbers and utilized it as a part-time bookkeeper in a jewelry manufacturing company, while still in school. Graduating from Washington Irving High School, she continued to hone her skills by attending a business college and advanced to full time position in the company accounting office.
She met George Grigorian, who had stopped in New York on his way from Marseille, France to Detroit. Their friendship blossomed into a long distance romance and she married George in Detroit in 1955. The happy couple established their home in Detroit and were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Vera. Through the years, they utilized vacation time by traveling throughout the country.
With the untimely passing of George in 1991, mother and daughter became even closer as they lived as best friends together in life. Ann became the manager of Pacific Custom Draperies, which brightened the fine homes in the Metropolitan Detroit area with beautiful draperies.
She, as a family oriented woman, and Vera, as a loving daughter, continued their eventful trips up North, especially visiting Frankenmuth, and their trips down South to the tropic beauty of their condo in Sarasota, Florida. Twice to Europe to meet relatives were certainly exceptional trips.
Ann had a zest for life which was enhanced by her ever smiling face. And, with her keen sense of humor, it made Ann Grigorian an exceptional woman. who leaves her extraordinary legacy to her loved ones.
