Araxi Atikian was born in Jerusalem on October 4, 1941. Her parents were Meguerdicth Haroutunian and Verjine (nee Nalbandian) Haroutunian. She had a brother Haroutun (deceased) and Sister Haygoush (Abe) Hajjar Araxi married Hagop Garabed Atikian on December 11, 1960 and moved to America in 1961, where they had four children, Varteni Atikian (deceased), Rita Atikian, Michael (Lindsey) Atikian, Steve (Erna) Atikian She had 3 grand daughters, Alexis (John), Elana, and Eden and 4 grandsons, Jacob, Ray, Michael and David and 2 nephews Mark and Sameer.Araxi Atikian was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, baking many Armenian dishes, and loved art, music, and spending time with her family. She was a simple person who enjoyed the simple things in life. Sitting on the porch and watching her kids play, to baking with her sisters-in-law were her favorite things to do.FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTSThe funeral service will take place on September 24, 2020, Thursday at 1:00pm in St. John Armenian Church, 22001 Northwestern Hwy, Southfield, MI. The family will receive friends in the church Thursday from 12 Noon until time of funeral service at 1:00pm..
