Carl was a loving husband to Kathy Manoogian (Kory) and proud father to Max, Cory and Alec. Born September 8, 1960, Carl was the cherished son of Carl H. and Esther Manoogian and adored brother of Karen, Robin and Judy. To know Carl was to love him. He will be missed by many and will be in our hearts forever, not for what he said, but for how he made you feel when you were around him. Carl Eric Manoogian got his nickname, Pudge, at an early age from his father because he had Pudgy cheeks. All childhood friends and family call him Pudge to this day. He met Kathy and he was then formally known as Carl. He grew up on Stellamar Drive, in Southfield, with three sisters, who doted on him. One of their favorite stories about him, which they still love to tell to this day, is how easy it was for him to convince them to deliver the papers on his route, collect the money, and bring it to him. In turn, he had his sisters backs for life . He was the perfect brother in every way. He was the prince of the house and became the king of the neighborhood. Little did he know he was building friendships that would last for the rest of his life. As a teenager, he started a lawn service business with his friend, Billy Newman, that lasted for years. On his 16th birthday, his Sam babu and coco grandma let him pick out the car ofhis dreams, it was a cobalt blue sports car with white racing stripes, like Starsky and Hutch. It had an 8 track cassette player that blasted rock & roll, including Led Zepplin, Aerosmith, BTO, Bob Segar, and Peter Frampton. Music and dancing remained a passion throughout the rest of his life. The friends he made at Southfield Lathrup High School became the brothers that he never had. At the age of 21, he backpacked through Europe the entire summer with his friend, Andy Coden. It was an eye opening trip of a lifetime. Carl had the closest thing to a story book upbringing; his parents showed him the true meaning of family. His mother, Esther, and father, Carl, showered him with love and support, which helped build his outstanding character. Soon, thereafter, he met his beautiful bride Kathy Kory, it was a whirlwind romance that turned into 34 glorious years of marriage and 3 amazing sons, who were his pride and joy. His two most cherished rolls in life were husband and father. He was a dedicated son, brother, husband, father, uncle, friend, and co worker to so many.VISITATIONIn State Monday 6pm to 8pm with Dan Gark prayers at 7:30pm in St. John Armenian Church, 22001 Northwestern Hwy, Southfield, MI 48075.
