Daniel Harootiun Markarian peacefully passed away on September 28, 2024, in Boca Raton, Florida. Born on March 5, 1963, in Miami Beach, Florida, he was the son of Berge and Meline Markarian of Hialeah, FL. Daniel began his education in Dupuis Elementary School and graduated from Hialeah-Miami Lakes High School, where he was a Marching Band member, served on the Student Counsel, and was elected as Class President. He furthered his education in the University of Miami, where he first earned his Bachelor in Education degree in 1986, and went on to achieving his Masters of Science in Education in 1989. He crowned it in 2007 with his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
Daniel’s life-long successful teaching career from 1986 to 2024 encompassed positions in Campbell Drive Middle School in Miami Dade, Lantana Middle School, Crestwood Community Middle School in Palm Beach County, Royal Palm Beach Community High School, Seminole County Rock Lake Middle School, Dwyer High School in Palm Beach County, and Nova Southeastern University.
Daniel was involved in many community organizations, both in Dade County and in Palm Beach County. He made many friends in the schools. He became fiend and advisor to some of his former high school students, keeping in touch with them until his passing.
He was a great family person, helping his Mom and Dad in their Hialeah home, Coconut Creek home, and Banner Elk, NC, summer home with his excellent mechanical and construction abilities. Dan was also a great gardener, making the Coconut Creek and Banner Elk homes the envy of the neighborhood with all of his tree and plant landscapes.
After his Mom, Meline, passed away, Dan moved in with his father, in the Coconut Creek home, to provide love, comfort and respect, which helped to extend Dad’s life to age 97. Dan was a very compassionate person, ready to voluntarily help anybody, which rewarded him with a happy living life full of great memories.
