DELORES KARIBIAN Obituary

Delores Karibian's parents were Ohanes and Rose (Sarkisian) Mardossian. From an early age, Delores grew up as a great sister to her brother and sister while she gained deep feelings of Armenian orientation and an enthusiastic desire to develop tasty Armenian culinary talents. Naturally, she was noted for her delicious traditional Armenian dishes. Active in the church and community, she was a member of the ACYOA, Jrs. and continued on in the adult chapter of the ACYOA. Delores received her education and graduated from high school. She met Albert Karibian and they married. Delores became a devoted wife and loving mother to her three sons. Deeply active in their PTA, she was also involved with them for their soccer and baseball games, even travelling with them to away-from-home games and competitions. At the same time, Delores was an important part of the family business in their store. And, in her leisure time, she enjoyed a good game of bowling with her group. Delores was a member of the Daughters of Vartan, who have pledged to preserve and protect freedom of worship, and the culture and traditions of the Armenian nation. Scholarships to deserving college students is also an important program of their Sisterhood. She was also an active member of the Detroit Armenian Womens Club, which has similar ideals of preserving culture and heritage. A woman of faith, Delores was very active in church as a member of the Women's Guild. She volunteered her fine culinary services in the kitchen, helping the crew of women to handle church events, especially months of preparations for the church annual bazaars. She reached her pinnacle when she expertly helped to plan and execute one of the bazaars as the Chairman. Delores G. Karibian set a fine example of dedication and caring for her loved ones to follow. ........FAMILY MEMBERS Beloved wife of Albert.
