Dolores was born on the sunny morning of July 21,1937 in Highland Park, Mi. She was the first of four beautiful daughters, born into the lively, multi-generational home of Souren and Angeline (Dedeian) Krikorian, a passionate immigrant household filled with music, dance, ideas, and love.
Dolores cherished her childhood. “This time around was a gift”, she would say, feeling that the richness of her life was blessed beyond measure. And the love she shared with her sisters, Hermine, Kohar, and Wendy was the essence of that gift. It provided the firm ground she needed to walk into life with unshakable self-confidence.
After graduating from Fordson High School in 1955, Dolores attended Henry Ford Community College, where she met her future husband, Hugh Forman. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Dolores proudly worked as a tour guide at Greenfield Village. Years later she would eventually go on to achieve a Master of Arts in Education from Eastern Michigan University.
After college, Dolores worked as a teacher in the Plymouth-Canton schools for over forty years. From Miller Elementary to Central Middle School, where she taught seventh-grade English, Mrs. Krikorian (Forman) is remembered for her infectious personality and inspiring spirit.
Dolores was an artist of life. She actively sought to deepen every relationship through heartfelt conversation. An art form she learned from her grandmother, Kohar Dedeian, who taught her that the story her family carried was precious, and by continually sharing it, she would encourage others to see the light within their stories and become their best.
Dolores passed away with her family next to her on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.
