DONALD GEORGE Obituary

Donald Ralph George passed away July 21, 2018. Born in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania on March 22, 1931, he was the son of Dominick and Stella Giorgi. Shortly after receiving his education, the family moved to Little Falls, New York. Donald entered the US Army during the Korean Crisis (War). Achieving the rank of Corporal, he faithfully served his country in Germany, where he was awarded the "Occupation Medal Germany". Returning to civilian life, he reunited with his family, who had already moved to Detroit. Donald resumed his usual skilled work as a side laster mechanic. On a happy occasion, he met and married Mary Afetian. In his lifetime, he had been Blessed with the birth of eight children. So, with their special joy of dancing together, Donald and Mary formed a lasting enjoyment of life together. Donald, with his constantly smiling face, was a kind hearted gentleman who, through his generosity, was always willing to help many people. That is the warm, smiling legacy he leaves to his many loved ones.FAMILY MEMBERSDONALD GEORGE Beloved husband of Mary Afetian-George. Dearest father of Donald (Sharon) George, Bernice (John Tomes) Bourn, Bernadette (Kenny) Maki, Barbara (Rick) Wright, Dominic George, Robert (Jani) George, Flora (Willie) Simonian, Matios (Kathryn) Simonian and the late Dennis and Denise. Devoted son of the late Dominick and Stella Giorgi. Brother of the late Helen, Jim and Angelo. Loving grandfather of Mark (Jamey), Donald, Martina, Christopher, John, Melissa, Dominick, Nicki, Tavia, Kalyn, Skyler, Savannah, Simone, Rosalie, Edward, and many more great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.In State Friday 4pm to 8pm, with Dan Gark prayers at 7:30pm in St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church, 19300 Ford Road, Dearborn. The family will also receive friends in church on Saturday from 10am until time of funeral service at 11:00am. Interment Woodmere Cemetery. Memorials suggested to either St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church, or ARS Sybille Chapter, or Wounded Warriors Family Project.
