HAIG APKARIAN, Retired Successful Sales Representative of the former Packer Pontiac in Detroit., passed away October 18, 2019, in Farmington Hills, Michigan. BIOGRAPHY and FAMILY MEMBERSHaig Apkarian was born August 18, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan. He was the beloved son of Mardiros Mardig and Mary (nee Chalian) Apkarian. Brother of the late Edward (Violet) Apkarian and the late Susan (the late Harry) Amirkanian. Uncle of Renee and Rochelle. After graduating from Highland Park High School, Haig entered the US Army and honorably served his country during World War Two. Stationed in Korea with the Special Services Branch of the 7th Infantry, he operated motion picture equipment as a Projectionist for the entertainment of fighting troops, overseas. As a capable person, he also repaired the equipment, as needed. Returning home after the war, he entered the retail automobile business and achieved success as a sales associate at the Packer Pontiac dealership, in Detroit.In his leisure time, Haig enjoyed gardening and playing cards with his friendsFUNERAL ARRANGEMENTSIn State Wednesday 8:30 until time of funeral service 9:00am in St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church, 19300 Ford Road, Dearborn. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.
