Harry (Harutoun) Fereshetian passed away on October 11, 2025, in Northville, MI. Born in New Hudson, MI, on September 3, 1934, he was the son of Setrag and Armenuhy (Koumashian) Fereshetian. After graduating from Cass Tech High School, he enrolled in the US Army, where he served his country for 2 years as Private, First Class, earning the National Defense Service Medal and a Sharpshooter's Badge before being honorably discharged in 1956. Upon returning home, Harry started working as a draftsman at Ford Motor Company.
Harry was always active in his church first as an acolyte at St. John Armenian Church and then singing to the Glory of God in the Komitas Choir. As a member of the ACYOA, he met the love of his life, Janet Eghigian, and they were married in 1959. Their marriage was blessed with the birth of their son, Eric, in 1964. They were married for 60 wonderful years.
While being a dedicated husband, father, and draftsman, Harry went back to college in the evenings to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from the University of Detroit. He continued to work for Ford Motor Company for 41 years as an Engineering Supervisor in the Chassis Division.
Harry loved spending time with family and friends, either boating on Cass Lake, grilling in his backyard by the pool, or hosting tailgates at University of Michigan football games, where he was a season ticket holder for many years.
Harry was a doting husband, father, and grandfather to his two granddaughters, Corinne and Kendra, never missing a single one of their dance recitals or skating competitions. Harry was extremely proud of his family and will always be remembered by his loved ones for his extraordinary life and for the lasting legacy he leaves.
