Janet Paula Fereshetian passed away January 25, 2020, in Royal Oak, MI.Born in Detroit on May 15, 1937, she was the daughter of Paul and Marian (Zoulalian) Eghigian. Tragically, her mother passed away when Janet was only 7 years old. Bravely, and with great love, she helped to raise her infant brother, Michael.A good student, Janet completed her education at the same time and graduated from Mackenzie High School. Following that, she helped in her father's business as secretary in Pauls, Machinery Company. Subsequently, she continued in her career as secretary for the Detroit Deisel Corporation.Janet was always active in her church and community, too. With her beautiful voice, she sang to the Glory of God in the church Komitas Choir. As a member of the ACYOA, she met the love of her life, Harry Fereshetian, and they were married in 1959. Their marriage was blessed with the birth of their son, Eric, and she became a dedicated mother, wife, grandmother, and aunt.She always put family and friends first in her life. A perfectionist in all she did, she dedicated herself to entertaining everybody on all occasions. Her Holiday meals were noteworthy and had a special significance.Janet P. Fereshetian shall always be remembered by her loved ones for her beautiful life and for the lasting legacy she leaves.FAMILY MEMBERSShe is mourned by her beloved husband, Harry Fereshetian; Dearest son Eric (Anita) Fereshetian; Loving grandchildren, Corinne and Kendra; Dear Brothers, Michael Eghigian and the late John Eghigian; Sisters, Elizabeth Deradourian and the late Helen (the late Edward) Sarafian; Sister-in-law, Mary (the late Sam) Boyajian; She is also survived by eleven nieces & nephews, Great-nieces and Great-nephews and many other relatives and friends.VISITATION AND FUNERALIn State Monday 5pm to 8pm with Dan Gark Prayers at 6:30pm in St. John Armenian Church, 22001 Northwestern Hwy, Southfield, MI 48075. The family will also receive friends in church on Tuesday from 10am until time of Funeral Service at 11:00am. Everyone is invited to attend the Memorial Dinner, which will follow in the church Dining Room.INTERMENT Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
