On July 2, 2024, a little more than two weeks after celebrating her 101st birthday, LuCille Noraian took her last breath and peacefully moved on to what may follow our existence in this realm. Vital and engaged as ever, she had decisively shifted her focus to receiving hospice care the week preceding her death.
LuCille was impressive as a centenarian. She had friends of all ages, maintained her own home and a dynamic social life, was well-read and conversant on many topics, and actively involved in the Armenian community of greater Detroit. Physical activity and a goal each day was part of her life from an early age; clearly it helped sustain her desire to remain as independent as possible, for as long as possible.
FAMILY MEMBERS
Her extended family and close friends were her rock, and she was ours. LuCille is predeceased by her husband of more than seven decades, John M. Noraian; and her son, John M. Noraian, Jr. Living on is her daughter, Cyndi (Gary Tolman) Noraian; granddaughter, Mariam “Ronni” (Malav) Parikh; grandson Connor (Colleen) Tolman; and the one who captured her heart, 6 month old great granddaughter, Lena Ani Parikh.
She is also survived by a brother-in-law, as well as several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and their spouses, all of whom she is immensely and joyously proud.
