MASIS KHELOKIAN Obituary

Masis Khelokian peacefully passed away in Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak on March 22, 2023. Born in Highland Park, Michigan on January 18, 1927, he was the son of Partogh and Siranoush (Koozooyian) Khelokian. An active young boy, Masis was a leading player in the school baseball and basketball teams. He distinguished himself as the Captain of the basketball team and was awarded coveted letters in the sport.

Upon graduating from Highland Park High School, Masis entered the US Army and patriotically served his nation. Stationed first in the Medical Group, he was transferred into the  Mechanical Compound in Yokohama, Japan, where he became the manager of the local Army Mechanical Compound.

He returned home after his Honorable Discharge and began successfully working as an Agent for the John Hancock Insurance Company. Ever wanting to advance, Masis broadened his educational horizons by also studying classes in the university level.  As the years passed, he expanded his sales abilities by additionally working in the Men's Clothing Department of J.L. Hudson Company.

Considering all, his main focus was on home and family. He enjoyed working in the garden and had a passion for cooking. Masis was a great father who enjoyed staying home to listen to old radio programs and watch classic TV  games and shows. However, he was enthralled with the history of the Civil War and became an avid reader.
