Rose Aprahamian passed away peacefully in her sleep early in the night of March 30, 2021 at her residence at the Sunrise Brighton Gardens home in Boca Raton, Florida, at the age of 91. Rose was born in Detroit, Michigan, on August 1, 1929 to Hagop and Margaret (Mardirosian) Aprahamian. Rose was the youngest of five children with four older brothers; Abraham, Edward, George, and Mike. Edward Aprahamian is 97 and now resides in Tucson, Arizona.
Rose was an accounting major and began her employment in the accounting industry. She joined Cooper’s and Lybrand LLC which later came PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC, one of the largest Accounting fIrms in the world.
Rose excelled at her work, and after many promotions she eventually became the Regional Midwest Office Manager, one of four such positions in the United States. She was the first woman to hold such a senior position at the firm.
Rose was an avid sports fan of baseball, football, hockey and was an accomplished bowling athlete. She was also active in the Armenian Youth Federation (AYF) and participated in her younger years in the AYF Olympics. Rose and her closest longtime friends, sisters Stitch and Roxy Vosgerchian were like a female version of the three musketeers. They had so much fun together and were fortunate to have traveled throughout the world.
Rose was also the “Favorite Aunt” to her three nieces and eight nephews; Lucille, Randine, Margaret, Jack, Don, Ron, Mike, Greg, Gary, Eddie and John. Dear Aunt Rose always gave the very best gifts for all occasions, and more importantly, made time to attend every special event and would often travel from Detroit to Boston or Virginia for family visits. Rose also shared her generosity and goodwill by sponsoring and funding several orphan children in Armenia.
Rose was also a loving longtime caregiver for her mother, and later for her sister-in-law Polly Aprahamian. Even after moving to assisted living, she was the go-to resident to entertain, give cooking lessons and help the residents get to meals and recreation activities.
Her caregivers at Sunrise provided her great care and comfort for over 10 years and her family appreciates their constant and dedicated service.
