Rose Violet Manoogian, known as ‘Kid' and ‘Pontiac Rosie' to many, passed away peacefully at home in her apartment at Waltonwood Cherry Hill, Canton, MI on November 4, 2018 at the age of 96. Rose was predeceased by John, her beloved husband of 74 years. Loving mother of Natalie Mosher (Bob), John Manoogian II (Connie), and Lori Manoogian-Johnston (Pearse). Grandmother of Robert (Alexis), Aaron (Aimee), John III (Barbara), Adam (Molli), and Emily Rose. Great-grandchildren Gavin, Alina Rose, Ruby Violet and Dean.Rose was born in West Alice, Wisconsin to Azad and Ohannes Marashlian, survivors of the Armenian Genocide. As a young child, her family moved to Pontiac Michigan. She graduated from Pontiac High School.Not only was Rose a devoted wife, mother and grandmother; she extended her love and compassion to those less fortunate through her support of orphans and schools in Armenia. She didn't stop with children. She also extended her caring support to animal welfare organizations. John and Rose travelled extensively, in addition to spending time in the sunshine at their second home in Florida.As proud Armenians, Rose and John took their daughter and 3 grandsons to Armenia to gain a better understanding and appreciation of their Armenian heritage.
