Seta Kohar Akarakcian (nee Demirdjian) passed away April 19, 2017 in West Bloomfield, Michigan. Seta was born November 26, 1931 in Istanbul, Turkey as the devoted daughter of Nisan and Ardemis Demirdjian and loving sister of Eliza, Armine and Hagop. Seta received her elementary education at Hintlyan School in Istanbul and continued her secondary education at Notre Dame De Sion also in Istanbul, Turkey. Seta became an accomplished concert pianist having studied at the Geneva, Switzerland Conservatory of Music. Her deep love and superior technical accomplishment of classical piano started as a very young child and continued throughout her entire life. Seta married Norman Kasbar Akarakcian on August 18, 1957 after both had emigrated to the United States. She and Norman were married for over 52 years until his passing in 2010. They loved each other with great passion and lifelong dedication and were blessed with three adoring children, Arlene (David), Correne, and Glenn (Charlotte.) They were also divinely blessed with three beautiful grandchildren, Aaron, Isabelle, and Madeline, whom they adored with limitless love. Seta is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews whom she also greatly cherished. Seta lived her life with a devout faith in God and her Armenian heritage, boundless love for her family, and committed herself as a passionately dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. By her very nature, she instilled these heartfelt traits in her family and all who had the good fortune to know and invariably love her. Seta was also known for her unique and very keen sense of humor bringing true joy and laughter with her always. Countless stories abound of her ability to continually bring laughter to our lives.
