Sadie Zazaian

Sadie was born on October 7, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan. Her parents, Garabed and Maritza Dakesian, were both Armenianimmigrants, Maritza having survived the Turkish massacre of Armenians in 1915. Sadie was the youngest of four children. She had 3 older brothers -- John, Gideon, and Richard(Doc). All 3 of herbrothers treated her, their youngest sibling, with the utmost love and generosity throughout their entire lives. On June 14, 1958, she married Toros Zazaian, also in Detroit, Michigan. Toros was the son of Michael and Araxie Zazaian.Toros was a WWII Army Veteran, and worked for both Mercury Records, and then Ford Motor Company during his life. Until her last day, Sadie would always say her husband 'Tee' was just a really good guy and wanted nothing more than to be with his family. Sadie worked as a secretary for Robin Hood Flour in Detroit, until the birth of their only child, Patriciaon August 6, 1961. They made their permanent home in Allen Park, Michigan. Sadie devoted her life to her family. She was primarily a homemaker, providing support to her husband and daughter, as well as her mother, mother-in-law, and aunt. She was 'Aunt Sadie' to many loving nieces and nephews, and treated them as if they were her own children.Sadie had 2 grandchildren, Erik and Katherine, that she worried about and loved more than words can describe. She loved visitingthem in Oxford, Ohio, where they live, and was an integral part of their lives. She attended many of their school and sports activities and considered it a privilege to be able to do so. She saw them both graduate from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and wasso very proud of them for that and their career choices. Sadie had a following wherever she went. Her son-in-law Chris, whom she thought a lot of, would say that Sadie knewmore people in Oxford, Ohio, than he did, and he lives there. Sadie loved meeting new people, especiallyfriends of her daughter's and her grandchildren. Her grandson Erik, would record her on video and share it with his friends, some of whom had never met her in person, but felt as if they knew her. Sadie was a small woman, with a kind and generous heart. She was a supreme baker of Armenian baked goods, and sharedthem always with her friends and family. Sadie was also an avid walker, walking regularly in her neighborhood and beyond. She never stopped moving. Sadie was a faithful member of St. John's Armenian Church in Southfield, Michigan. Sadie was known for saying 'thank you'each time she received communion. Attending church was an important part of her life. Sadie will be missed forever by her family and friends, especially her daughter and grandchildren. Sadie Zazaian funeral arrangements are....Visitation April 18, 2018 Wednesday from 5pm to 8pm with Dan Gark prayers at 7:30pm in St. John Armenian Church, 22001 Northwestern Hwy; Southfield, MI. The family will also receive friends in church on Thursday from 10am until time of funeral services at 11:00am.....Interment in Woodmere Cemetery....Memorials may be sent to either St. John Armenian Church or Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org or Alzheimer's Association National Office, 225 N.
