Zohrab "Steve" MgrditchianBorn, August 10, 1925 Kessab, Syria, passed away, May 1, 2020 Troy, MichiganZohrab was the youngest child of Dr. Estephan and Karoun Mgrditchian. He had an older sister, Araxie, and brother, Hagop. He enjoyed an idyllic childhood in Kessab surrounded by many cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. After completing primary school in Kessab he continued his education at Aleppo College and later at the American University of Beirut. He was a political science major and knew five languages.He met Haighouhi (Agnes) Gureghian (deceased) in Kessab and they married and moved to Detroit Michigan where they raised a family. They had two daughters: Hannah and Karen. Steve made his living in sales - first in appliances and later in insurance. Eventually he settled on real estate and was an agent with Chamberlain RealEstate in Troy Michigan for many years.Steve was a fun loving man who enjoyed a good joke, a friendly game of poker and of course the race track! He and his second wife, Betty (nee Embury, deceased), enjoyed a long and fun retirement, splitting time between Michigan and Florida for nearly thirty years. They enjoyed cruises, casinos, visiting friends and family in California and Michigan.Steve was a kind spirit, a quick wit and a skilled storyteller. Those who knew him would say he did not shy away from offering a blunt opinion when the occasion arose. He enjoyed a long, healthy life rich with a large family and circle of friends. He will be missed by all who loved him.Zohrab is survived by daughters Hannah (Bob) Wider, and Karen (Ken) Lipski. Proud and loving grandfather of Rachel (Billy) Silva, Natalie (Johnny) D'Anna, Kelley (Jared) Scott, Margaret (Sean) Parker, and Robert (Brenda) Wider. .Adoring great grandfather of William, Alexandra, Theodore, Sean Clayton, Abigail, Valentina, Liliana, Giovanni, and Gabriella.
